Andy is a very exciting horse at Zodiac. He brings some valuable new blood to our Thoroughbred breeding program and will provide exquisite jumping talent and magnificent movement under saddle to any foal he sires. This gorgeous boy is definitely a stallion, though his temperament is assertive rather than aggressive. If he were a real person, Andy would be a metrosexual kind of guy; he's got breeding and refinement in every step he takes and every look he sends your way and he has a definite understanding of the effect he has on people watching him. His carriage and his mannerisms scream hunter royalty and we're sure Andy will soon be the sire of a new line of hunter princesses and princes.

Andy would cross stupendously with virtually any sort of sport horse, and would also cross well with a Quarter Horse to create an extremely versatile Appendix capable of competing in any English discipline and possibly even Western performance events. Andy is sure to sure foals with perfect movement, a sure, scopey jump, and a brave, forward temperament. When crossed with Warmblood or Draft mares, the resulting offpring will carry the refinement of Andy's typey face as well as the larger bone and body structure of the dam. Wen crossed with a Pony, the foal will be a beautiful little thing, a sport horse at its most capable, and a paramount competitor!

 

Naming Background

Andy was named after a line in the Lewis Carrol poem, "Jabberwocky." It goes like so:
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
