Ali is a new mare to our jumper string, purchased from Rachel of TYR and she's fallen into her new discipline like it' what she was born to do. She had two very successful winning starts as a racer when she placed first and first in her maiden and an ungraded stakes. As a five year old, however, we thought it was time she move on to a different discipline rather than risk potentially catastrophic injury to her legs. She wasn't the easiest girl to retrain since she's, well, to put it lightly she's a total pain in the ass sometimes, but that fire and temper will serve her well when it's time to fight for a winning time in the ring or when it's time to fight for that clear round. We're hoping that she'll be able to funnel her attitude and hijinks into a strong competition when it's time to go, but we'll never know until we send her into the ring. She loves to buck after each jump which slows her time down significantly and many of our lower-level jumper riders are petrified to even get on her! She can buck like a fat kid can eat - naturally, athletically, and without provocation!
